Job Description

We are looking for a Microsoft Application Developer for a full-time position.  Must be a skilled programmer who can work both individually and also thrive in a team atmosphere. Responsibilities will include interacting with clients to determine requirements/specifications, performing front-end and back-end programming and or/analysis duties and producing specific deliverables relating to various phases of the systems development life cycle. Job responsibilities include project estimation process, technical design, code reviews and application support.

Position Responsibilities

  • Work with clients in a Fortune 500 company to design and develop application solutions to address needs and opportunities

  • Provide technical thought leadership to help guide client decisions

  • Perform technical requirements analysis, design, programming, testing and implementation tasks on web & mid-tier application projects.  Participate in testing activities to ensure high standards of quality

  • Strong database management skills

  • Maintain current industry knowledge of technical design and development concepts and methodologies

Position Qualifications

Work Experience

  • 5+ years of programming experience

  • Experience working with off-shore resources a plus

  • Experience working in the transportation industry a plus

Technical Experience

  • Object oriented programming expertise

  • .NET Framework, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, or C# Framework experience

  • Xamarin/Xamarin Forms experience is a plus

  • Oracle 11g experience

  • TortoiseSVN, Visual Source Safe, Rational Sub Version (SVN), ClearCase, Atlassian experience

  • Understanding of design patterns, application & transactional frameworks, GUI languages and APIs; XML messages and have ability to write complex SQL

Consulting Skills

  • Previous client-facing consulting experience required

  • Experience working with small to mid-sized teams

  • Critical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills that can make independent decisions within area of responsibility and expertise

  • Ability to work effectively on multiple projects or tasks in a dynamic environment, at times under pressure, and subject to changing priorities

  • Flexible attitude to play multiple roles, as needed

Professional Skills

  • Ability to thrive in serving multiple roles on a project and multiple simultaneous projects

  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to learn new tools/concepts rapidly

  • Strong interpersonal skills in a team-based environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Academic Background

  • Bachelor’s degree with technical focus (Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Informatics, etc) or equivalent work experience
